Daniel Vydra's serendipity maker, an off-the-cuff Python hack that draws on the APIs of the Guardian, New York Times, and Australian Broadcasting Corporation in order to create a series of "news roulettes".  You "hit a button" and you will get taken to a totally random New York Times, Guardian or ABC News Story.
